Target Audience and Program Objectives
This program will provide a broad overview of addiction medicine and is designed to prepare attendees for the American Board of Preventative Medicine subspecialty examination in Addiction Medicine.
Accreditation Statement
Physicians: The Osteopathic Founders Foundation is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. The Osteopathic Founders Foundation designates this program for a maximum of twenty (20) AOA Category 1-A credits. The Osteopathic Founders Foundation will report CME credits for all osteopathic physicians who complete and return both an attestation form and program evaluation for all sessions attended. Credit will be commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation in this activity.
This live activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Oklahoma State Medical Association (OSMA) through the joint providership of Saint Francis Health System and the Osteopathic Founders Foundation.
Saint Francis Health System is accredited by the Oklahoma State Medical Association to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. Saint Francis designates this live activity for a maximum of twenty (20) AMA PRA Category 1 credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Proper Prescribing: Approval will be requested from the Oklahoma State Board of Osteopathic Examiners and the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure & Supervision for Dr. Jason Beaman’s Opioid Epidemic lecture to meet their annual licensure renewal requirement for one (1) hour of education in pain management or one (1) hour of education in opioid use or addiction per Oklahoma SB 848.
DEA Licensure: This program meets the new Medication Access and Training Expansion (MATE) Act requirements from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for training on substance use disorders. Providers planning to receive or renew their DEA registration can earn up to eight (8) hours towards the MATE Act education requirement by participating in this program.
